The Altar Guild is a ministry of service.  We prepare the altar, priest's vestments and vessels for worship. The Altar Guild sets the credence table with the elements (bread and wine) to be adminstered during communion.  We order and arrange the flowers for weekly Sunday worship and for Christmas and Easter.

What we Do

The Altar Guild is a body of deeply committed persons dedicated to serving our Lord by preparing the sanctuary, the altar, the priest's vestments, hangings, vessels and elements for service and worship.  We are always ready and prepared to serve.

We always welcome those who after careful thought and prayer feel called to this service ministry.  We assist the priest so that the worship services proceed smoothly and assure all the necessary items are in place for worship.

There is a period of training and apprenticeship as there is a lot to learn.  During this time one is assigned to a team and the team leader is primarily responsible for the instruction.  We urge new members to come out weekly and practice and learn with the other Altar Guild team members.
